2011: A year of Freedom of expression, thought and speech

The strength of the truth is solidly explained in the bible, where it says about the people that wanted to silence Christ: "Καὶ ἐζήτουν αὐτὸν κρατῆσαι, καὶ ἐφοβήθησαν τὸν ὄχλον· ἔγνωσαν γὰρ ὅτι πρὸς αὐτοὺς τὴν παραβολὴν εἶπε. καὶ ἀφέντες αὐτὸν ἀπῆλθον." (Mark 12:1-12 : And they tried to arrest him, but feared the multitude, for they perceived that he had told the parable against them; so they left him and went away.)

They feared the "multitude", they were afraid of the majority that would react against any attempt covering up truth. Maybe that is an excellent statement for a civilized year 2011, where our values of democracy and the "pursuit of happiness" are at danger in so many areas of our societies, including the liberty in our Software Industry and an open and non-discriminating access to their services.
