2011: A year of Freedom of expression, thought and speech

The strength of the truth is solidly explained in the bible, where it says about the people that wanted to silence Christ: "Καὶ ἐζήτουν αὐτὸν κρατῆσαι, καὶ ἐφοβήθησαν τὸν ὄχλον· ἔγνωσαν γὰρ ὅτι πρὸς αὐτοὺς τὴν παραβολὴν εἶπε. (Mark 12:1-12 : And they tried to arrest him, but feared the multitude, for they perceived that he had told the parable against them; so they left him and went away.)

They feared the "multitude", they were afraid of the majority that would react against any attempt covering up truth. Maybe that is an excellent statement for a civilized year 2011, where our values of democracy and the "pursuit of happiness" are at danger in so many areas of our societies, including the liberty in our Software Industry and an open and non-discriminating access to their services.

Ad words - the magic of add placement within your blog

Hey, we are thankful to Google, of course for giving us that space to tell everybody what we think and what our business is currently all about. But what about the automatic robot that sorts through the postings - he/she must be rather clueless what type of people browse this blog. Last week they (are they only one or do they have seperate identities?) wanted to sell of tires (usually I use my bike) and then they offered free Tarot readings and magicians to cure whatever problems you have...and now they even switched to advertisments for local food. What a difficult life this robot must lead, we pity him/her don`t we?

The strength of the MicroISV as seen on the 10th ESWC in Vienna

The 10th ESWC in Vienna was an amazing and living proof that the MicroISV, the individual developer is determining more than ever the path that a billion-dollar software industry is heading for. This is really a new-age elite, simply determined by merit and ability. The 10th ESWC has faded out our doubts and lightened the burden as developers - it is a great experience to be part of creating a new world of borderless informational individuality.

Street boohs revisited

"Permanent observation demanded" As we have learned the action group: POd has issued a statement demanding constant observation of their houses by Lookgle. "We have the right for pictures that reflect the actual state of our house being obvious to the whole world" said Mr. Samuel Ubiquous, speaker of the POd. As far as we know there has been no comment yet on that from Lookgle Inc. We will inform you about further developments.

Village opinions and global appearance

Seem to work rather similar. And when people are carefully watching their opinions being filtered you may walk on clouds and not even know it.

Is Human kind (not) changing?

Governmental control in the Internet

As much as we all value the wise and well-proportioned use and strength of governmental institutions there are signs that they have realized the impact of the modern world, unfolding around them. Wow. They have noticed us.

Can they and should they control the Internet? Well, the Internet is a mirror image of the world with all of its good and its bad sides. So if it comes to policing unlawful acts such as spam or financial transfers of dubious nature probably most of the community accept this as their right to do so. But how far and to which extent should that go? You cannot ration oxygen because there are criminals that breathe it, right?

Interestingly enough European countries have traditionally tended to decrease liberty and to curb innovation through legal governmental action. In the US a court just ruled out FCC, who actually wanted to control the providers from deciding on how to weighten broadband connections. Interesting coverage of that case can be found at NYtimes online at http://ow.ly/1vuRh .

Schade. Besserung in Sicht, liebe Finanzjongleure, Profiteure etc...?
