Mountains and the tourists

Do you know that experience: You come to a famous city, place, location, park etc. and you see all your co-tourists, thinking you could have stayed at home seeing all of them and you want to go local, find the secret paths, the hidden truth of the common people around you, of all those, who actually live here? Ok. You might find some of that hidden things by leaving the crowd, by talking to the locals, by finding their hideouts etc...and then you can take home impressions and memories that you believe to be original, right?

I love hiking in the mountains, walking for hours and then when you suddenly encounter somebody else, your heart opens and you talk to these strangers like friends...why?

Because IMHO silence and distance, privacy and time to be on your own are not contraproductive to being social but the essential ingredience of having something to say, beyond the trivial that goes through our daily mind.
